Reference Project: 800 Cans/Hour BOV Cosmetic Line

Reference Project — Sample Configuration

BOV Cosmetic Line

Premium · 800 cph · Bag-on-Valve

⚠️ Transparency Note: This is not a customer case study. It is a reference configuration based on common industry requirements. Budgets are estimated for equipment only and do not include raw materials, shipping, or facility construction. Actual pricing depends on your specific product, output, and can specifications.

Target Customer

Cosmetics and personal care brands launching premium BOV (Bag-on-Valve) products: sunscreens, facial mists, thermal water sprays, preservative-free formulations. BOV enables 360° spray and pure product dispensing without propellant contact.

Equipment Configuration

Model Equipment Why This Choice
FD9606 BOV Semi-Auto Filler (Type B) Mid-range BOV system. Under-cap gassing with compressed air/N₂ + through-stem liquid filling + sealing. 600-1,000 cph.
Air Compressor + Filtration Oil-free compressor with 0.01μm coalescing filter for clean compressed air supply to BOV gassing
FD9955 Hot Water Bath Leak Tester Leak verification. BOV cans have different leak characteristics — water bath validates seal integrity.
FD9954 Automatic Checkweigher Critical for BOV: verify both product fill AND gassing pressure by weight

Production Process

1. Can Preparation BOV can with pre-inserted bag-and-valve assembly loaded onto filling station
2. Under-Cap Gassing FD9606 injects compressed air or N₂ under the valve cap — pressurizes space between bag and can wall
3. Liquid Filling Product (sunscreen, mist, serum) injected through valve stem into inner bag. Product never contacts propellant.
4. Valve Sealing FD9606 seals valve to create permanent closure — bag is now pressurized and sealed
5. Leak Testing FD9955 water bath verifies no propellant or product leakage
6. Weight Verification FD9954 confirms correct product fill + propellant charge by weight
7. Actuator + Cap Manual placement of BOV-specific actuator and overcap

Estimated Budget

FD9606 BOV Filler $18,000 – $25,000
Oil-Free Air Compressor + Filtration $3,000 – $5,000
QC Equipment $8,000 – $12,000
Installation & Commissioning $3,000 – $5,000
Total Investment $32,000 – $47,000

Facility Requirements

40-60 m² for ISO 8 cleanroom-compatible production. Production: ~25 m². QC lab: ~10 m². Raw materials (temperature-controlled): ~15 m². BOV requires cleaner environment than standard aerosol — budget for air filtration and positive pressure.

Operators: 2-3 workers. Cleanroom gowning procedures apply for cosmetic GMP.

💡 Why This Configuration

BOV is the fastest-growing aerosol segment for cosmetics. No propellant-product contact means preservative-free claims are possible. 360° spray is a strong consumer differentiator. The FD9606 balances entry cost with production speed — ideal for brands launching 3-5 BOV SKUs.
